If you're a railfan in Erie, Pennsylvania, you know how to find the Franklin Avenue bridge. It traverses the CSX and Norfolk Southern tracks just south of the main gate to GE Transportation, where many of the locomotives are made that you see on the tracks. In an hour's time, we saw quite a few trains and some interesting surprises.

The Erie Zoo has a new exhibit of four African Wild Dogs. They are the first canines exhibited at the zoo in 30 years. The group of dogs are all females and are sisters. They were born in October 2006 and came from the Bronx Zoo in New York City.
