After Gareth Williams left This Heat, he and Mary Currie made a collection of songs under the name Flaming Tunes. This is the video for one of them (I always thought it was called Swimming Song, but I'm wrong). It was shot on Super 8 film
As it says, some New Zealand birds, including Saddleback, Stitchback, Royal Albatross, Yelloweyed and Fiordland Crested Penguins. Some were recorded at Karori Wildlife Sanctuary in Wellington, some on the Otago Peninsula and the rest just around.
This was shot from the little seaplane that flies from Lake Te Anau to Milford Sound. Kipling (I think) described Milford Sound as the 8th Wonder of the World.
Mumbai isn't the world's most peaceful city, and the driving there is just plain stupid. There's also a bit from Juhu beach at sunset, and the storms at the start of this years (06) monsoon. Turn the volume up to get the benefit of this clip.
This Rick Wilson tune is taken from his self-released "Pangaea Sound". Rick was a member of The Work, and friend and sometime collaborator of the late Gareth Williams (who was once a member of This Heat). It was made on Super 8 film.
Some aquatic NZ animals; firstly, a strange snake-like thing I found on the shoreline, then seals, sea-lions, dolphins (seen from my apartment in Wellington), then Hectors dolphins. There are some shots from the underwater observatory at Milford Sound and finally some whales at Kaikoura. I didn't spend much time worrying about the sound I'm afraid.
Starts with some pictures of what is currently the world's tallest building, Taipei 101, but the best bits are the weird rocks, which are a a place called Yehliu. It's my holiday video, so it's got my friends and their little boy in it as well.
A higher resolution, or rather less compressed, version of the video of the Flaming Tunes song. Flaming Tunes were Gareth Willimas (after he left This Heat) and Mary Currie. It was shot on Super 8 film.
