This videoclip is of Wadih el-Safi and Jose Fernandez performing Jannat. Wadih is celebrating his 79th birthday on this day at Casino du Liban on 31-Oct.-1999. That is his son, Georges el-Safi, on the violin. Wadih's wife and daughter are in the crowd. Proof that he can still rock no matter what's his age.
Here is a video clip of Fairuz from one of her movies/plays set in Lebanon called "Bint al Hariss." Here she is as a teacher for elementary school girls. Old school is awesome!
This is an awesome video clip from one of her many plays and movies set in Lebanon called "Safar Barlik." Sometimes I wish that we had roadside cafes and clubs like this one. Check out what they are snacking on (pumpkin seeds, dried apricots, tomatoes, and water and arak.) Try ordering in a restaurant they way they are and see what happens. Once you hear it, you sing it the rest of the day. Enjoy!
Check out this oldie but goodie. I am not sure when it was recorded, but in the videoclip you see the 1994 in the background. I have the CD and the song is on of his first album. The videoclip is not in good quality, but it is still worth viewing.
Check out this live song by Wael Kfoury. Notice that everyone, especially the women in this clip, just adore him. Next to Fairuz, no one quite has the range in their voice skills. Here's the proof. And it's live!
Too bad it isn't the whole song. The words are awesome and purely Arabic. Only Arabic songs can put words like this together and make love songs out of it.
A music video clip from Wael Kfoury. Aren't these children in this video the cutest? Check out the baby oud that the boy plays for his love.
The first time I watched this video, when the little boy swung the oud over his head, I thought he was going to hit the little girl with it. This is proof that my mind is warped! Still it is an awesome video! And I am glad that she doesn't get hit.
Here is a very, very old videoclip of Wael Kfoury singing Magrora. I am pretty sure that this is a New Years' Eve celebration. Check out all of the pretty women dancing. Amazing!
Here's an old clip of Wael Kfoury when he served in the Lebanese Army. He is singing Aman Ya Habibi Aman. This is my favorite song and rendition of it. Isn't funny how a song about hatred and bad times towards an old partner/girlfriend in a relationship can sound so good?
This is a very, very old videoclip of Wael Kfoury singing live at Club Orbit in Lebanon. I am pretty sure this is a New Years' Eve celebration. And he is singing my favorite of all of his songs, Aman Ya Habibi Aman. Again, isn't funny how a song about a bad relationship can sound so good? Check out all of the pretty women in the audience and how they just adore him! It makes you wonder?
Here is the OTHER Alex (Ishkander) working in the chicken and shish kabob stand at our church's annual festival. It's the 29th year for the Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church Heritage Days Festival in Easton, Pennsylvania.
My childhood friend and good buddy, Paulie. He was working bingo at our church, Notre Dame du Liban. And his cousin Bumper was getting on his nerves. Paulie finally tells him to shut up! Go Boulos!
