The red soils at Tsuvuka pan have turned the elephants from their boring dull grey to these exotic red sculptures. And yes they are just loving their wallow, all the herds in one big pile.
7 members of the Nduna pride downed a buffalo calf. It's cries bring back the herd. The lions try to hang on to their prize but are chased off by the buffalo several times. The calf's mother comes to its assistance and amazingly after being under lion tooth and claw for 10 minutes the calf gets up and follows its mother. Daily action live from the bus on Wildcast.net
Less than a year old, the CUTEST little elephant calf was going absolutely wild in a mud wallow. And once everyone had left he slipped and slid not able to get out sliding back into the 'melting pot of mud'. Tried again, with lots of slipping and sliding and eventually made it out.

A pack of hyaenas march on a wild dog den and the wild dogs take the battle to the hyaenas. But soon realising their pups are safe the wild dogs back off.
In the throws of giving birth the calf is coming out all wrong. The mother tries desperately to give birth but in 3 hours there is no change. The calf appears to be dead. Now to survive the cow needs to rid herself of the foetus. Will she make it?
It was a beautiful sunset over Banyini pan when in the distance I heard the distress calls of a buffalo. Racing over there I found a male lion had downed a huge bull. As it struggled a second lion arrived and went straight for the stranglehold muffling the bulls distress calls.
Manyari and Magwaza killed this zebra in the afternoon and settled in to feed for the next 3 or 4 days. The males kept calling in the distance but the lionesses didn't respond. They plan to keep this kill to themselves.
A Hyaena mother calls her tiny cubs she left safely in the den all day. The little black cub is only weeks old as it's mother goes into the den to call the other cubs. It's unusual for adults to go into dens. The dens are there for cub's safety and not for adults to take refuge in. The little cub gets mom's full attention.
The lions obviously killed this young giraffe last night and now at dawn were polishing off the scraps. Manyari was with her girlfriend Magwaza and one of her males. Unbelievably he was still trying to get lucky with Manyari. She was being the ultimate tease but then slapped him. He continued to press his case.
Lions have downed a buffalo bull and are now eating him alive. They make no attempt to go for the stranglehold and continue to pull out his intestines. The fear of death in his eyes bores deep into my soul. They dilate fully and he dies. This is not like in the movies, this is Real. A huge African beast has died at the hands of those WE call the King of the Jungle.
