Elliot Hughes recounts allegations of torture while being detained in Ramsey County Jail. Hughes was detained during an RNC08 protest after reportedly colliding with a police bicycle on accident. He was sent to Regions Hospital for treatment and later released without charges. We are actively investigating these claims. Stay tuned for more.

The person picked to introduce Barack Obama at his victory rally may have been chose to show Obama'ss appeal to Republicans as well as Democrats. JoAnne Syverson was a Republican and says she's proud now to be a Democrat. Syverson is from Eden Prarie, Minnesota and is the mother of an Iraqi war veteran.
More at http://www.theuptake .org. When The UpTake arrived at the home at 3240 17th Avve. South in Minneapolis, the police and city inspectors were boarding up the house. The city said they had to board up the house because the owner wasn?t available, but the owner was in jail.
