USS Horne serves as a target during RIMPAC 2008 and hit hit by among other things, three AGM-84 Harpoon Missiles fired from CVW-5 attached to the Carrier Kitty Hawk.
A video tribute to the ship and the men who served. on 06/26/08 Horne departed on what would be her final mission. The final images in this video are from that day. In July 2008 she finds her final resting place deep in the south Pacific near Hawaii. Music: Jupiter - from Gustav Holst's "The Planets Suite"
